While this recipe calls for ribeye, feel free to use the cut of meat of your choice. Do you prefer T-bones or sirloin? Why not! You can always count on your air fryer to produce the most delicious steaks.

Ingredients

A mouthwatering air fryer ribeye steak, seasoned to perfection, is showcased on a cutting board.

Ribeye Steak – Butcherโ€™s cut is best but if thatโ€™s not possible, opt for a nice thick steak of at least 1โ€. You can also use any other cut of steak you prefer. Ask your local butcher for the best cut of meat to ensure perfect results.

Olive oil – Olive oil is used to brush over the steak before adding seasonings. You can also use Avocado, Sunflower, Peanut or Grapeseed oil

Salt and pepper– Salt and pepper are mixed in with the other spices to give this steak itโ€™s flavor.

Garlic powder – fresh minced garlic is a great substitution if you donโ€™t want to use powder

Smoked paprika – If you donโ€™t have smoked paprika, regular paprika will do just fine.

Steak seasoning- Hereโ€™s a great recipe for homemade steak seasoning.

Equipment

Air Fryer – If youโ€™re cooking for one or two people, a 2-4 quart should be sufficient. If you are cooking for more than four people on a regular basis, opt for a 5 qt or higher.

Meat Thermometer – Itโ€™s always recommended to use a meat thermometer when cooking any kind of meat. Digital thermometers are more accurate.

Small bowl – any small bowl will do, glass/metal or plastic to mix all the seasonings together.

Pastry brush – This is only used to brush olive oil on the steak prior to cooking. If you donโ€™t have one, you can use your clean hands to do this. .

Begin by preheating the fryer to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC). This will provide the optimal temperature for crispiness on the ribeye steaks. Carefully place the seasoned ribeye steaks into the preheated air fryer basket, being careful not to overload it and to ensure proper air circulation. For medium rare steaks, cook them for 10 to 12 minutes, turning them halfway through the cooking time. The cooking time can be adjusted according to the desired degree of doneness.

Using a meat thermometer, check the internal temperature of the steaks. For medium rare, the temperature should be 135ยฐF (57ยฐC). Remember that the temperature will rise slightly as the steaks rest.

When the ribeye steaks are cooked, remove them from the fryer and allow them to rest for a few minutes. This will allow the juices to be redistributed, ensuring juiciness and flavor. Slice the ribeye steaks against the fibers and serve immediately.  Enjoy!

How to Tell if Your Steak is Done

Using a meat thermometer is the best way to tell if your steak is cooked to your desired tastes. Here are some cooking temperature guidelines for steak.

  • Rare – 125ยฐ F
  • Medium rare – 135ยฐ F
  • Medium – 145ยฐ F
  • Medium well – 155ยฐ F
  • Well done – 160ยฐ F

Cooking Tips

If your steak is less than 1โ€ thick, you must adjust your cooking time depending on the doneness you prefer.

While this steak is simply prepared with olive oil and some seasonings, you can marinate it with your favorite marinade if you desire. You can marinade it overnight or for just a few hours. I promise it will still be perfect.

Tips for Leftovers

Is there really such a thing as leftover steak? Sometimes, yes. If you have some air fryer ribeye steak leftovers, simply store them in a glass airtight container and use them for a steak salad the next day.

Reheating this steak is not really advisable. You will turn a fantastic medium rare steak into an overcooked, dry piece of meat.

If steak salad isnโ€™t your thing, you can make a steak sandwich or cut up the leftover steak the following day and toss it into an omelet for breakfast.

The possibilities are endless, but I honestly doubt there will be leftover steak!
