These 11 Affordable London Restaurants Will Leave You Speechless
We’re big foodies! And we’re glad to know that exploring London’s food scene doesn’t have to be expensive. We’ve been in London for a while now and have had the chance to try a range of restaurants of all sorts. We selected these spots that we think are perfect for food lovers looking to enjoy great meals without spending a fortune.
1. Obicร in Canary Wharf
Obicร serves up an irresistible Torta di Capri at their Canary Wharf location. Eric and I often go there just for that treat. This traditional flourless cake is an absolute treat, rich and bursting with flavor. They also make delicious Chai lattes! It’s a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth, showcasing the simplicity and excellence of Italian desserts.
2. Phรขt Phรบc
Located in the heart of London, Phรขt Phรบc is a Malaysian gem where the laksa reigns supreme. Known for its authenticity and rich flavors, it’s considered one of the best in the city. Be prepared to wait, as it’s a popular spot, but the delicious, hearty laksa is well worth it. For example, when we went, we waited about 30 minutes.
3. Wright Bros in Battersea
We recently went to Wright Bros in Battersea for a Sunday lunch. Wright Bros offers a perfect balance of quality and value with their seafood dishes. The mussels are particularly noteworthyโperfectly sized and served in large portions. they come with fries too! Paired with reasonable prices and a cool locale, we really liked eating here.
4. Fatt Pundit
Fatt Pundit specializes in a fascinating blend of Guangdong and Calcutta cuisines, located right in Covent Garden. This fusion results in a vibrant, flavor-packed menu that made us very happy! We chose to try a few different dishes and share as it’s the style of the restaurant. It was really good and we would return!

5. The Terrace on Brompton Road
We went to The Terrace for Eric’s birthday and it was super! This is probably one of the most affordable restaurants that serves some of the best Mediterranean food. The Terrace, located on Brompton Road, offers delicious Mediterranean dishes made with a homestyle touch. Their French toast, in particular, is a standout, showcasing the fresh, flavorful ingredients that make Mediterranean cuisine so beloved.
6. Loco Mexicano
Near Victoria Station, Loco Mexicano brings affordable, authentic Mexican food to the heart of London. Passing it, you wouldn’t know it’s really great food! The vibrant ambiance matches the lively flavors of their dishes, making it a great spot for a fun and tasty meal.
7. Black Bear Burger
For burger enthusiasts, Black Bear Burger is a must-visit. It’s located in a food court by Victoria station. They serve up smashed burgers that are juicy, flavorful, and not overly greasy. These are the burgers we had! It’s a prime example of how simple ingredients can be transformed into something delicious.

8. Gourmet Sushi
Gourmet Sushi offers an extensive selection of sushi at great prices. It’s a go-to place for sushi lovers looking for quality without the hefty price tag. We actually often order in from them! We love their dragon rolls and sashimi. They’re also generous in portions!
9. Taco Collective in Shoreditch
Shoreditch’s Taco Collective prides itself on serving super fresh and tasty tacos. Located among a vibrant food stall scene, itโs a perfect spot for grabbing a quick, satisfying meal that’s packed with flavor.
10. Dim Sum Duck
Dim Sum Duck, located on Kingโs Cross Road, is renowned for its exquisite dim sum. Be sure to arrive early to beat the crowds, as thereโs often a wait. We waiting about 30 minutes on the sidewalk before being seated. Make sure also to come earlier than later as everything is fresh and some items stop being available as the night goes. The wait is a small price to pay for some of the best dim sum in town.

11. Big Easy
Big Easy may not be a boutique restaurant, but it offers fantastic value with its hearty BBQ and surf and turf options. It’s a great choice for anyone looking for generous, tasty meals that are easy on the wallet, making it a beloved spot among locals.
