With the years Americans themselves have started on disliking California. Whether it be for political or financial reasons, California is not in every American’s heart. But California also goes beyond the Bay Area and Los Angeles.
Actually California is much more than what some people seem to think it is. The Golden State offers absolutely stunning national parks like Yosemite and out of this world landscapes like Zabrieskie Point in Death Valley National Park. For having visited all of the above, I just can never understand how California can be so low on people’s bucket list from a travel point of view (of course, I understand the criticism around taxes, housing crisis, etc…).
And beyond all of that, California also offers quaint and charming small towns that are perfect for a getaway. Some can even make you feel like you’ve stepped outside of the USA which, for people disliking California, can be a happy compromise! so if you’re looking to see California in a different lense, these small towns are for you!
1. Venice
