When we moved to Ireland, we had no idea one of the things we’d be struggling with would be pronouncing other people’s names right. I absolutely love Irish names and think they are so beautiful… at least when they are pronounced the right way. I cannot tell you how many times I found myself baffled at a name knowing I wouldn’t know how to spell or pronounce it right. These names also carry stories and traditions from Ireland, bringing with them its rich history and beautiful language. So you don’t want to butcher them! Here are 12 of of our favorite ones!

1. Aoife
