In the eastern part of the country, where I (Marie) am from, there are four distinct seasons, with cold and windy winters and peaks of heat during the summer. In the northern and northwestern regions, the climate is generally chilly and windy, while the south, like Corsica where Marie has family, enjoys sunny days and blue skies for a significant part of the year.

To the south, France is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, one of my (Marie) favorite places. This stunning sea is known for its azure waters and picturesque coastline. Corsica, a French island where part of my family lives, is located within the Mediterranean Sea, adding to the country’s diverse geography. Corsican beaches are stunning which a lot of people don’t know! I’ve been going on vacation there since I was a child and love it! 

Moving westward, France is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, which embraces regions like Bretagne (Brittany) with its rugged coastlines. Finally, in the North, France is separated from England by the English Channel, a narrow stretch of water that connects the Atlantic Ocean to the North Sea.
